At the Oxford Heart Centre, specialist heart teams care for people at their most critical moments. Patients arrive possibly frightened and uncertain, while families wait anxiously for reassurance. Patients with suspected heart attacks bypass the Emergency Department and are taken to the operating theatre within minutes of arriving at hospital. 

From the very beginning, patients are supported not just with clinical expertise, but compassion and reassurance. The Oxford Heart Centre is truly something everyone in Oxfordshire can feel proud to have on their doorstep.

ECMO: Advanced life-support  

Keeps someone alive when their heart and lungs need urgent help.
  
In the most severe cases, ECMO can take over the work of the heart and lungs for a while. It gives doctors precious time - helping stabilise patients and allowing hearts the chance to rest and recover when every moment matters.  

Advanced Cardiac Imaging Equipment

Helps doctors see the heart with extraordinary clarity.
  
This specialist imaging technology supports heart procedures by giving clinicians a clearer, more detailed view. That means treatment can often be more precise and less invasive - helping reduce complications and support a smoother recovery.

Portable Chest Drains   

Supports comfort, movement and faster recovery.
  
Modern portable chest drains can make a real difference during recovery. They help patients breathe more comfortably, move more freely and regain independence sooner - reducing time in hospital and supporting a safer return home.

Cardiac Staff Room Renovation

A place for dedicated staff to rest.

Behind every piece of equipment are dedicated staff caring for patients at their most vulnerable. A welcoming staff room offers space to pause, gather strength and support one another between lifesaving moments.
